The Hotel du Vin was transformed into a magical Christmas venue on Wednesday 25th November to host our Christmas Sparkle event. There was a tempting variety of bespoke stalls and we were treated to carols sung by the Wide Valley Singers. Thank you to the Hotel du Vin, all the stallholders, our volunteers and to everyone who attended this festive afternoon. It really was a lovely way to commence the Christmas season and in the end we raised £1,021.
There were more than 250 guests at the Willans candlelit carol concert on 1st December. The Mayor and Mayoress of Cheltenham were among the guests, as well as business representatives, charity patrons and former LINC patients. Dr Rouse and Willans’ senior partner, Nick Cox opened the evening which was followed by a lovely selection of carols led by local choir, Severn’s Eight and seasonal readings including one by LINC patron, Dr PJ Crook MBE. This fabulous evening raised more than £1600 for LINC. We are so grateful to Willans for their continued support and for hosting such a wonderful occasion.
Light up a Life Service
The Light up a Life Service was held on Sunday 6th December at St Luke’s Church. This was a really touching service, celebrating and remembering the lives of our loved ones.During the time of reflection, floating candles were lit in memory of those whom we have lost. It was a truly symbolic and beautiful service. “Father, you alone can heal broken hearts. Wipe away the tears that well up inside us, give us the peace we need and the strength to carry on.”
This was always going to be a glorious evening at the majestic Pittville Pump Rooms. Cheryl Brandish and her friends from Cornwall’s Duchy Opera treated guests to a selection of operatic arias and more modern arrangements from Gershwin in between dinner courses. A special mention goes to Fosters catering. In the end the evening raised over £1,500.
